Chapter One: Innocent Outing
"Erin are you coming?" Marie, Erin's older sister, asked as she walked into the girls room. Hearing her name Erin turned her head to look at her sister. Erin simply nodded as she picked up her messenger bag, sliding the strap carefully over her shoulder. "Well then c'mon!" She said shaking her head slightly at Erin before walking out of the room.
Erin listened as she heard Marie's footsteps heading down the creaky old stairs. Where ever you were in the house you could always tell when someone was using the stairs. In Erin's opinion they had to be the creakiest stairs she'd ever seen, and more so heard.
Not wanting Marie to yell at her Erin made her way out of her room and quickly followed down the stairs. She glanced around when she entered the living room. She had missed being at home and missed the house in general, at least for the most part.
Erin had been living on her own since she had turned nineteen, she was now twenty-one. She had always planned to live at home until twenty, figuring she would need a few years after graduating from Hogwarts to earn enough money for a nice cottage and find a steady job, but she hadn't. Erin had managed to get her dream job only one year after graduating.
She was now a professional quidditch player, a starter for Puddlemere United. It had always been her dream career, but not something she thought she'd be able to do. In school she had been a beater for Ravenclaw, since her second year, but never thought she was good enough to go professional. That was until a scout from Puddlemere came, saw her play and told her once she graduated to try out with them. Erin was glad she listened to the scout because now she was part of the team and happier then ever.
"So, where exactly are we going?" asked Erin as she walked into the kitchen where Marie was.
Turning around Marie smiled. "I figured we could go to that new shop that just opened in Hogsmeade. It was..."
"The Blue Moon Cafe." Erin answered for her, a smile also on her face. Marie nodded and picked up her own bag, moving past Erin and going back into the living room.
"I thought we could grab a quick bite to eat, maybe do some shopping. Unless you have practice today." Marie rolled her eyes slightly as she opened the door. Marie had never been very supportive of her younger sister's career choice. The two girls had always been very close, best friends really. But since Erin started playing on a professional team they hardly had any free time to spend together. Although Marie being a healer at St. Mungos didn't help that either.
Erin sighed when she saw Marie rolling her eyes. "No I don't have practice today, I told you; practice doesn't start again until the beginning of September. Our captain, Patrick, is on vacation and the team doesn't want to start without him."
"OK then, so we're doing some shopping together."
"Sure, just not too much. You know I don't like shopping." stated Erin. Marie just nodded in response, opening the door and walking outside. Watching her walked further down the driveway, Erin stepped outside and made sure to shut the door behind her. She didn't bother locking the door, seeing as there closest neighbor lived two miles away on both sides.
Erin then jogged over to Marie to catch up with her, which didn't take that long. Marie had only gotten a fourth of the way down the street by the time Erin was caught up. The girls always walked to Hogsmeade from their parents house. Apparting would've made more sense, and would've been a lot less time consuming but they liked the walk. Plus for Erin it was another way to keep in shape. Something which was always welcomed.
The two girls continued walking down the road. Marie was looking straight in front of her, as she always did when walking, while Erin was looking at everything around her. She was always taking in the sites as she walked, it was something she enjoyed.
"Hey Marie?" Erin asked, a random thought coming to mind.
"Hmm?" answered Marie, turning her gaze toward Erin now. Before asking her question Erin looked around again as she noticed they were halfway to the next house now. A house that belonged to the parents of an old classmate. As Erin continued to look around Marie smiled, seeing where she was looking. She put a hand on her sisters shoulder. "Yes he's home for the summer too."
Erin's eyes widened slightly as a light blush rose to her cheeks. "I have no idea what you're talking about. I was simply going to ask..." Erin tried to think of a quick and simple lie, "which shop we were going to after we ate."
"Uh-huh, I'm sure that was your question." Marie teased, laughing while she did. Erin shot her sister a short glare, causing Marie's laughter to subside into a small giggle then just a smile/smirk. "I was thinking Honeydukes."
Glad the subject was off of her lie Erin smiled and nodded. "Honeydukes works for me." She said brightly, quickly looking away from Marie, not wanting to blush anymore then she already had.
Ever since meeting their next door neighbor, Erin had had a small crush on him. A crush that only grew when they got to Hogwarts and had classes together. Erin had even managed to keep in touch with him outside of school, and not only because they lived on the same street. As she started thinking about him more, Marie nudged her.
"And look who just stepped outside." She said in a teasing manor as both girls looked at the house they were now in front of. A slow smile crept onto Erin's face as she saw him walking toward them.

Thank you
Chapter Two: Seeing an Old Friend
"Go over and talk to him." said Marie, giving her sister a slight push forward and toward the driveway. Shaking her head Erin turned toward Marie.
"No, we're suppose to go to lunch now... so, let's go." Just as Erin started walking Marie grabbed her arm as gently as she possibly could, keeping Erin from walking further at the same time. "What?" She questioned, turning again.
Marie sighed and let go of her arm, putting her hands on her own hips. Not understanding why Erin wouldn't just go talk to him she shook her head, in slight disapproval.
Seeing the look on Marie's face Erin rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Fine, I'm going. I'll meet you there then?" Marie smiled and nodded, waving to both Erin and their neighbor before walking off. After she took a few steps Marie pulled out her wand and disapparted to Hogsmeade instead of walking. Figuring she'd give the two of them their privacy, a thought which alway brought a smirk to her face and a small pang of jealousy with it.
"Hey Erin." He greeted, standing a few feet in front of her, flashing a charming smile. One which Erin remembered very well.
She smiled back at him, "Hi Oliver." Unintentionally, Erin began glancing around them. Many questions for him popped into her mind, ones she couldn't wait to hear answers for. Erin hadn't seen him since their last quidditch practice, which was in May. Even though that meant they had only gone without seeing each other for three months or so, she still missed seeing him as often as she had.
Oliver Wood was someone Erin had always been close to. He moved next door around the time she had just turned seven, making him six at the time. The two had met when their parents decided to get together, for a "meet the neighbors" welcome party. Ever since that night they had been very close. Erin told Oliver practically everything, as he did with her. Neither of them were afraid to say anything to the other, except for Erin. She had never gotten around to tell Oliver how she really felt about him. She didn't think a conversation about how she fancied her best friend would go over too well. He was focused on quidditch, although not as obsessed with the sport as he was in Hogwarts, and he never really noticed when girls fancied him.
For those two main reasons Erin had kept this secret to herself. She couldn't help but smiling whenever she saw him, or melting under his simple touch. She knew that he didn't notice these little things, nor did she expect him to. It was sort of a relief for her, having him oblivious to her fancying him. Erin knew that her reason was a typical reason that most people gave so they wouldn't have to possibly face rejection head on, but she still used it anyway. She didn't want to ruin the friendship that they had now. She didn't want things to become awkward if she did tell him and he didn't return her feelings. A typical reason, but the best one that her mind produced. The best one she knew to stop herself from just flinging her arms around him and kissing him.
"How've you been?" He asked, causing Erin to snap out of her own thoughts. "How is Marie doing?" Oliver added before she had any time to answer the latter question.
Hearing her sister's name Erin shuddered slightly, feeling a small bout of jealousy surge through her. Although Erin and Marie were like best friends, they still often got jealous of one another, mostly dealing with crushes. To Marie it always seemed like boys liked Erin better, and to Erin it always appeared that her big sister got the guy in the end. Even with Oliver it felt the same for both girls.
"She's fine... she's doing really well actually. Working at St. Mungos still, except she's had the past two weeks off." Erin forced a small smile on her face as she talked about Marie. Yes she loved her sister, but the feeling of competition always made her a bit bitter. As it did for Marie.
"And what about you? How are you doing?"
"Good." She answered simply, a real smile now on her face. "And you?"
Oliver smiled as his response, putting his hands in his pockets. "Good as well. Excited for practice to begin again." A bigger smile rose on his face at the mention of practice. That was when Erin remembered that after their last practice, Oliver and a few other team members had to re-try our. It was something Erin also had to do, but had ended up being placed in one of the last groups. Meaning she had to wait until September when Patrick came back and practices started again.
"So you made the team, starter right?" asked Erin curiously.
"Yes and yes. What about you?"
"I haven't tried out yet... I'm in the last group or in one of the last groups." She said with a shrug. Oliver nodded in understanding as his head slowly turned back toward the house.
Seeing Oliver look behind him Erin did the same. She saw the door to his parents' home opening, figuring to see either Mr. or Mrs. Wood, but instead saw someone else. Someone that she wasn't expecting. Erin looked back over at Oliver waiting for him to either explain or just leave her standing where she was to figure it out on her own.
